Set at 48 Hout Street, Cape Town, Forty Ate is the latest addition
to fine dining in the city. This heritage site was transformed by
owner Serge de Block to create stylish and up-market venue,
inspired by years of travel abroad. Forty Ate opened its doors in
February 2006. |
Forty Ate boasts an array of stylish furnishings to create a venue
that is both visually stunning and comfortable. It boasts a bar,
cigar lounge, restaurant and art gallery set over 3 floors. The
ground floor consists of a white marble bar and wooden flooring,
exposed granite walls (originally erected in 1960) and a private
cigar lounge. The restaurant occupies the first floor with
intimate seating for only 65 guests, while the art gallery on the
third floor recently opened with a Helle Jetzig art exhibition.
We are proud to have a truly committed team of professionals to
cater to your every whim. We believe that dining out is an
experience to be enjoyed and not rushed, in a relaxed homely
environment.
We invite you to a truly and proudly South African experience!
|
Executive chef, Yngve Muldal and his team creates a truly
gastronomic experience! Our menu is changed every 3 weeks to
ensure that every visit to Forty Ate is as memorable as the first.
We use only South-African produce, from the organic vegetables to
the finest quality beef, venison and seafood available. Before
your meal, you are treated to 'Amuse Bouche’, a complementary
degustation to whet your appetite for things to come. Favourites
include Raw Norweigan Salmon and Wasabi Ice Cream, the Beef
Rossini and the Chocolate Chip Cookies, served with a bourbon ice
and honey ice cream and a warm frangelica white chocolate sauce.
Let your five senses guide you! |
